My grandma was a published author. Whenever I visited her house in northern Michigan, I gained a new love for writing, whether it was poetry, short stories or journal entries.
Since then, I knew I wanted to write for a career. This quickly led me to journalism. The idea of sharing somebody's story in new and creative ways and making a difference in just one person's life has stuck with me throughout my life.
I am now a crime reporter with The Baltimore Sun, where I cover breaking news and court cases across three counties. I have covered the trend of church embezzlement, the incessant noise of a government ship docked outside of apartment complexes and fights breaking out at a murder sentencing.
I recently graduated from Boston University, where I studied journalism and advertising at the College of Communication.  I have reported on the Massachusetts Statehouse through the BU Statehouse Program, reporting on housing, the opioid epidemic and gun bills.
I previously served as the co-director of the Boston Hockey Blog, the top outlet covering Boston University's hockey teams, and as the sports reporting intern for BU Today.
Earlier in my college career, I served as the sports editor and managing editor of BU's independent student newspaper, The Daily Free Press. One summer, I worked as a beat reporter for the Cape Cod Baseball League's Orleans Firebirds. More recently, I reported for the Harpswell Anchor, a local paper on the Maine coast.

When I am not reporting, I enjoy taking a breath on a park bench, screaming at concerts, walking around the city to take photos and cheering for my Detroit sports teams (Go Lions!).
